On the third Saturday of each month in Watertown, hundreds of people wake up early to set up a food pantry for veterans and their families near Fort Drum.

Tens of thousands of military retirees live near Fort Drum. Veterans come to the pantry for food to get them through the last week of the month. Half of the people at the pantry come as volunteers and are also a part of military families. They form a unique kind of friendship.
